Meta Launches Major New Subscriptions Push for Creators … Powered By AI

AdminBy AdminSeptember 15, 2026No Comments3 Mins Read

The tech giant Meta on Tuesday said that it is launching a new subscription offering called Meta One, meant to supercharge creators, power users and businesses that use its platforms like Instagram, Facebook and WhatsApp.

The suite of subscriptions include single product plans like Instagram Plus and Facebook Plus ($3.99 per month), as well as bundle plans for power users, creators, and businesses, ranging from a $7.99 Core plan up to a $499 per month Max plan, with a number of plans in between them catering to different sorts of users (and more plans likely to come as the company homes in on what users want).

According to Helen Ma, VP of subscriptions for Meta, the company learned through its research that “there are users who want to do more,” than what is available through the free offerings.

“They want more specialized things that they can do when it comes to our apps and services,” Ma told reporters and creators at a briefing on Monday. “They want capabilities that, unfortunately, an app that was designed for billions may not necessarily deliver for them.”

Those capabilities span a wide spectrum: Businesses, for example, can tap into meta’s Business Agent to help provide customer service, but many of the features are just as relevant to professional creators an power users of the company’s apps.

“Today, if you’re a creator, you know that you’re probably stitching together lots of different disjointed, disparate tools,” says Ma. “You have tools to schedule. You have a ‘link in bio’ bio service. You have maybe an analytics platform, cloud storage, and throw in a few AI tools in between. What Meta One does here is that replaces this fragmented stack into a singular suite of product experiences built on a platform that creators are already familiar with, and with the context of your content and your audience.”

That includes things like notifications for views and custom DM and story fonts, but also the ability to schedule stories up to 30 days in advance, and links inside of organic posts and Reels.

But it will also include a healthy dose of AI, with higher usage limits on creating or editing images, or videos, as well as features like Restyle and voice effects.

But don’t let the subscription push fool you into thinking that Meta is pivoting to a new business model. Ma makes it clear that free and ad-supported is still the core business (even paying for a subscription won’t remove ads).

“We are very committed to keeping the experience for creators free,” Ma says, noting that her team talks frequently with Instagram chief Adam Mosseri, whose platform is Meta’s largest home for creators. “There’s many more people on teams that are building the free experiences for creators than the people that are working on subscriptions. So our intention is not and will never be to degrade anything or to force people to pay. This is all optional, and it’s a way for people who see the value, can come in for that.”
