A Nigerian lady has sparked reactions online after sharing her 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) result following her third attempt at the examination.
The lady, identified as Umukoro Deborah Efe-Zino, revealed that she had struggled with the examination for two years before finally achieving success.
Deborah, who completed secondary school in 2024, shared her experience and result on TikTok, where she explained how she overcame repeated setbacks.
Lady struggles with WAEC after secondary school
According to Deborah, she sat for both WAEC and JAMB after completing secondary school in 2024.
While she passed JAMB, her WAEC result became a challenge because of English Language, which prevented her from achieving the result she wanted.
She decided to register for the examination again and made another attempt, but the outcome remained disappointing.
Deborah revealed that the repeated failures affected her emotionally, as she cried and questioned why she was experiencing setbacks despite her efforts.
Third attempt brings breakthrough
Determined not to give up, Deborah registered for the 2026 WASSCE at Tio College Itamaga Ikorodu and finally cleared all her subjects.
Her result showed that she performed well across all nine subjects.
She scored: A1 in Marketing, A1 in Government, A1 in Civic Education, B3 in Christian Religious Studies, B3 in Economics, B3 in Literature in English, B3 in English Language, B3 in General Mathematics, C5 in Yoruba.
The result marked a major turnaround for Deborah, who had previously struggled with English Language in her earlier attempts.
“Delays are not denials”
Sharing her achievement online, Deborah encouraged others facing similar challenges not to give up.
She wrote: “Delays are not denials. If you keep going, your testimony will come.”
Her post has since attracted reactions from social media users, with many Nigerians celebrating her determination and praising her for staying committed despite the difficulties she faced.
