Life abroad is far better – Man compares Nigeria to UK, criticises government over poor healthcare system

A Nigerian man has sparked a conversation about the state of the country after arguing that life abroad is better than Nigeria, particularly when it comes to healthcare and the functionality of government systems.

Speaking about his experience, he revealed that he had previously travelled to the United Kingdom for a course and returned to Nigeria, but plans to go back, insisting that the system works better abroad.

In his words, he said:

“Life abroad is far better than Nigeria. I’ve been to the UK. I went to do a course and came back, but I’ll definitely be going back. The system works over there. Let’s look at what is trending. A popular Nigerian actor just died of stage four cancer. So show me one radiotherapy centre that belongs to Lagos State Government. It doesn’t exist.”

The man questioned the availability of adequate healthcare facilities in Nigeria, citing cancer and kidney-related illnesses as examples of conditions affecting many Nigerians.

He further criticised the government for failing to provide what he described as basic amenities and functional healthcare facilities for citizens.

“Do you know how many people in Nigeria are actually living? Go to the LUTH Cancer Center, go there. Even kidney issues, you will find a lot.

So tell me, how is the system working when the government cannot provide basic amenities, health facilities for our citizens? That’s the reality we’re faced with,” he added.

He acknowledged that Nigeria is blessed with resources and described the country as rich, but argued that poor leadership and structural problems remain major obstacles to its development.

His comments have generated discussions online, with some Nigerians agreeing that the country needs significant improvements in its healthcare system and public infrastructure.
