A Nigerian lady has called out some men living abroad for allegedly deceiving women with promises of marriage just to sleep with them.
In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the lady criticised men who pursue women they are interested in, and when the women refuse to give in, they go as far as promising marriage to convince them.
She narrated an ordeal involving a man who went as far as paying a woman’s bride price, only to sleep with her before returning abroad and asking her family to take back the dowry.
In her words, she said:
“Why will you go as far as going to a girl’s village to pay her bride price, and after sleeping with her, immediately you travel back, you send a message that they should go and take the dowry back?
‘Shebi you were playing hard to get. I had to go that far to get you and sleep with you.’ Do you see that you’re a wicked person?”
The lady stressed that women deserve time to determine whether they are making the right decision before accepting a man’s proposal.
She added that she was heartbroken after hearing about the situation, claiming that the woman involved was left emotionally broken.
“A girl delaying to say yes to you does not mean she’s playing hard to get. She’s only trying to confirm that she’s not making a silly mistake.
Please, abroad men, if you know that a girl is delaying to say yes and it is not okay with you, please move on. Wickedness dey oo,” she added.
The lady urged men who are unwilling to wait for a woman’s decision to move on rather than make serious marriage commitments they do not intend to keep.
