Time comes for us all — even killers of serial killers.
That’s the unspoken message of a short teaser for the second season of Dexter: Resurrection. The video —which also reveals an Oct. 30 premiere date for the season — shows Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) getting his eyes checked and donning a pair of glasses.
The season two logline also suggests that needing glasses might just be a symptom of a larger issue for Dexter. It reads, “The second season ofDexter: Resurrectionfinds Dexter Morgan caught between two killers — one with decades of notoriety and a lifetime of kills behind him, and the other a fresh young face terrorizing New York in ways no one has ever seen. Meanwhile, Dexter battles a new and unexpected enemy: a mid-life crisis. Harrison (Jack Alcott) continues his own pursuit of justice as father and son face their darkest chapter yet.”
The killer with “decades of notoriety” is the New York Ripper, played by Brian Cox. The character was name-checked but not seen in the first season of Resurrection. Dan Stevens and Gabriel Luna will also play serial killers in the coming season — though whether either of them are the “fresh young face” remains to be seen.
The season two cast also features returnees Uma Thurman, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Kadia Saraf, Dominic Fumusa, Desmond Harrington, James Remar and Krysten Ritter, along with new additions Bokeem Woodbine and Nona Parker Johnson.
Showrunner Clyde Phillips executive produces Dexter: Resurrection with Hall, Scott Reynolds, Marcos Siega, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton, Veronica West, Kirsa Rein, Tanner Bean and Katrina Mathewson.
