A man has reportedly bought back his former Toyota Corolla for ₦7.5 million, barely six months after selling the same vehicle for ₦6 million to settle a $13,000 Bitcoin debt.
The unusual incident was narrated by a man who claimed to have helped the car owner advertise and sell some of his properties after he ran into the debt.
According to the narrator, the Toyota Corolla was eventually purchased by his friend for ₦6 million as the owner sought to raise money to clear his financial obligations.
Man searches for another car six months later
Six months after selling the vehicle, the former owner reportedly approached the narrator for help finding an affordable car on Jiji after several options he inspected with a mechanic exceeded his budget.
The narrator then informed him that his former Toyota Corolla was back on the market because the new owner was preparing to travel abroad.
After learning that the asking price was ₦9 million, the man requested to see the vehicle.
The narrator recalled texting his friend, “Babe, buyer dey. Drive the car come.”
When the vehicle arrived, its former owner immediately recognised it and decided he wanted it back.
He reportedly told the seller, “Baba, this one na my car before nah. Make I give you ₦7.5 million.”

According to the narrator, the man eventually paid ₦7.5 million for the Toyota Corolla, meaning he bought it back for ₦1.5 million more than the ₦6 million he had received from its sale six months earlier.
