A Nigerian pastor has urged his church members to pay attention to the ballot paper and vote according to their preferred candidate ahead of the 2027 general election.
During a church service, the pastor made a reference to NDC presidential candidate Peter Obi while explaining how members should identify their preferred choice on the ballot.
He claimed that Obi’s name would not appear on the ballot paper in 2027 and advised his congregation to look out for the symbol representing the candidate they intend to support.
“Come the 2027 election, you won’t see Peter Obi’s face on the ballot paper. Anywhere you see two fingers, where they thumbprint, that is where you should vote for the betterment of the country,” he said.
The pastor did not provide further details to support his claim about Obi’s appearance on the 2027 ballot.
His comments come as political activities and discussions around the 2027 presidential election continue to generate reactions across the country.
Peter Obi contested the 2023 presidential election under the Labour Party and has remained a prominent figure in discussions surrounding the next general election.
The pastor’s remarks have since drawn attention online, particularly his reference to the symbol voters should look out for when casting their ballots.
