Nigerian socialite, Cubana Chief Priest has reflected on his first encounter with Afrobeats superstar, Davido in Victoria Island, Lagos.
In an interview with Beats FM, the socialite disclosed that their first encounter was at the Intercontinental Hotel after his wife arrived from the United States with their son, Donald.
Cubana Chief Priest Recounts First Encounter With Davido
However, upon Davido’s arrival at the hotel, he was thrilled and brought his wife and son to meet the singer, holding their international passports.
During the encounter, they took photographs and had a conversation, which led to booking the singer for his club.
Afterwards, the singer showed up at his club, and it turned out to be unforgettable, forging a bond between them.
Reflecting on their encounter, he stated, “It’s over a decade now and I’m grateful to God because of that. David is my biggest blessing”.
Cubana Chief Priest Arraigned By EFCC
It would be recalled that Cubana Chief Priest, was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on April 16, 2024, over alleged Naira abuse.
He was arraigned the following day, April 17, 2024, before Justice Kehinde Ogundare of the Federal High Court in Lagos on a three-count charge of tampering with and spraying N500 notes at social events.
Eventually, he was granted bail in the sum of 10 million naira.
At the resumed hearing on May 2, 2024, his counsel, Chikaosolu Ojukwu (SAN), informed the court that both parties were exploring an out-of-court settlement pursuant to Section 14(2) of the EFCC Act, which provides for a plea bargain.
