Diane Lane is joining Hulu’s upcoming limited series Victoria.
Lane joins as Lee Calloway a “savvy venture capitalist accustomed to getting what she wants and has worked too hard to let anyone stand between her and the win,” the streamer and Onyx Collective announced Wednesday. She joins Li Jun Li, seen on screens recently in Spider-Noir and Sinners, who’s playing Maxine Tao, described as a sophisticated yet cunning woman who finds herself in the high-stakes world of venture capital.
The logline for the series reads, “Set in the cutthroat world of San Francisco’s elite, Victoria is an erotic thriller about a brilliant con artist who finds herself in a dark web of power, luxury and the crosshairs of a seductive killer who knows her secrets.”
It Ends With Us screenwriter Christy Hall created the series and serves as showrunner, executive producer and writer. Geeta Vasant Patel (Lanterns) will direct the pilot and executive produce. Disney’s Onyx Collective and Counterpart Studios serve as the studios. Lilly Burns, Elise Henderson and Tony Hernandez executive produce for Counterpart. Li is set to co-produce.
Hulu announced a green light of Victoria earlier this month. The show joins a slate of forthcoming Hulu originals that also includes (among others) a Prison Break revival, pro football/family drama The Land and thriller Count My Lies, starring Lindsay Lohan and Shailene Woodley.
Lane is represented by CAA, Range Media Partners and Weintraub Tobin. Li is represented by Gersh Agency, Authentic Talent and Literary Management and Jackoway Austen. Hall is represented by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and Yorn Levine.
